BJL Visit

On the 18th March I visited BJL, an ad agency in Manchester, with my portfolio. I met with their main Art Director and spoke at length about my course, outside work and competition briefs before we eventually got into looking through my portfolio. I received some great advice on art direction and also about thinking of what I want to specialise on when it comes to going for jobs. He suggested that should I want to get a job at an ad agency I should work on some more ad briefs and tailor my portfolio towards that. Other suggestions were to make some of my magazine and identity symbols into screen printed t-shirts and posters which I will hopefully do when I get some spare time.

Luckily they liked my work and I have been invited back to speak with them about a placement but they work in pairs so I need to find someone interested in doing the placement and has good conceptual ideas to come with me.
