MILK

I was sent this link to a great minimalist interchangeable work station website. The panels can be changed to your own preferences and the design hides any wires. Colours can be matched to your taste and the height adjusted according to your choice. The website itself is a work of art in simplicity which perfectly echoes the product and it is well worth checking out at http://milk.dk/

Related Items

I have been sent this link to Amazon for a page where a baseball bat is being advertised. This should be innocent enough. However if you look at the links beneath for what else people bought when buying this item you will be shocked. I found it really funny and thought I would blog it to let other people see.

Telegraph Google Article

Suggestions is a new feature on Google where it predicts what you are looking for from what you type in. It works by being influenced by previous searches where the words you type were used.
The results can be funny, touching, puzzling and even scary. The article I read on the telegraph shows some of the strange things people must have typed into Google in the past. The full article can be seen at : http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/google/6161567/The-20-funniest-suggestions-from-Google-Suggest.html

Direct Government Website

Recently I took part in a pitch/ competition in collaboration with a web company to create a new design for http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/index.htm

My input was to create a fresh design template upon which the content would be placed. I had to create a colour scheme and feel for the site which I think looks smart and unique. My design is the bottom image. A competitors design is the green centre image and the existing website is the top image.

Hopefully we will be working together in the future.

YCN Commendations

We have just been asked to provide some text to demonstrate the thinking and inspiration behind our commended YCN work. This is due to the work now being showcased on the YCN website. Mine and James' work can be seen on this link http://www.ycnonline.com/commendations/view/69/nick-entwistle-james-clancy. For all other commendations click on this link http://www.ycnonline.com/commendations/student

I have looked through all of the commendations and there is some good work that is well worth a look. Starting this year there is a physical 'A' award which is being delivered to us. The opening celebrations of the 'A' launch was on the 2nd September at Village Underground in London. Images of the event can be seen here : http://www.flickr.com/photos/ycn/sets/72157622250102588/

Unfortunately James couldn't attend as he is currently on placement with Frost Design in Sydney and I couldn't make it due to family reasons but it looks like it was a successful night and hopefully we will win some more awards in the future.
