Blogs

These are 3 design blogs recommended to me by a friend in the design industry to have a look at. They are from very diverse areas but all have a fantastic array of work and inspiration in them. I also like the way they are laid out in a non fussy way.

Pedestrians Walk Here

These were photos taken last year when all of the pavements in Grand Central of Stockport were renewed. I saw these signs facing unusual ways and took the opportunity to capture the image. Since the project yesterday involved these type of pictures I though I may aswell upload them to my blog.

Berlin Photo and Sketch Compositions

At the start of year 1 we went on a trip to Berlin in Germany and at the time we were looking at type and composition. We were required to use photography and sketches of any type we could see. This was then cropped into squares to make the compositions you can see above.

This is a logo I designed for the British Postal Museum. It incorporates the franking mark into the 3 S's which works well asymmetrically. To go with this I produced an ambient media campaign which involved creating envelopes from found rectangles and using slots in the environment as postboxes which would have a cardboard image of a postbox over it which would provide the relevant information upon it.

Film Editing and Shoot

These are the pictures of our film room set up and editing. They both took quite a few hours each but we feel they were worth it in the end result and we now have the experience to do these things from teaching ourselves independently. It also helps to learn organisations and times because you need every item of equipment as well as room bookings etc all at the same time.

Green Screen Filming

Following on from the music video animation and filming we did I have looked at how the proffesionals do it. It is very close to exactly how we did it but a lot more precise and time consuming. Their green screen also seems a lot more vivid which makes it easier to key out edges so if we were to do it again it would need to be set up a bit better. Above are the images of the professional green screen filming.

Thank You Photography

A new concept: Eat in takeaway
Smoking Area
PLUM-BING

Today we had a one day brief where we had to come up with images of everyday life that has a unique twist which shows a concept behind it. The result didn't have to be fantastic photography. The most important aspect was the idea and how it was represented in the image along with a relating title. My Photographs are above along with their titles.
