Business Men on Business Trips

I came across this website via a link on LOVE Creative's blog. I thought I would put it on the blog as I found it really funny and also relative to the industry. It gets straight to the point as to how industry really works a lot of the time and it can often be not what you know but who you know.

Business Cards Final

These are the final promotional business cards which have gone to print for Firebolt Hosting and Leicestershire Web Designs. The logo for LWD has changed to incorporate the 'CMY' colours on a 'K' background but retains the striped background and Firebolt has been produced on plain black for maximum contrast.

26 Years, 85 Notebooks

I was told to take a look at this article for some inspiration for a notebook personal project we are currently doing. It was interesting as he works in a similar way to me. A lot of my sketchbooks are scruffy and full of notes and brainstorms for ideas rather than drawings. I have been told to make them neater in the past but I don't want to and articles like this prove that their is no point in perfectly neat sketchbooks which I am really against. It's about the work produced from the ideas. This is the first paragraph from the article which can be seen at http://observatory.designobserver.com/entry.html?entry=6067

On August 12, 1982, I took a 10 x 7 1/8 inch National Blank Book Company composition book from the supply closet of my then employer, Vignelli Associates. From that moment, I have never been without one. I always have one at my desk. I take one with me to every meeting. I am now in the middle of Notebook #85. It's in front of me right now. Together, these well-worn books create a history of my working life that spans three decades.

Jing Image Sharing

I have recently started using the image sharing service called Jing. The application allows you to capture video and images at any size or resolution and then paste them as URL's onto www.screencast.com or you can save them to your computer. It is a very quick and easy way of showing work to clients and getting work signed off before it goes to print or online. You can download this program at www.jingproject.com

Firebolt Business Cards

These are double sided business cards to promote the Firebolt Business. We decided on the black background to make the logo really stand out out and provide contrast. An enlarged version of the vector flame in the logo is used on the right hand side to create a focal point.

According to the guidelines we have been given by the customer for the logo we have come up with this design. Using the colours to represent the fire along with a vector flame and italicised lettering to show speed. This now has to be tried upon stationery and web applications but will have a similar look to what you see here when it is finalised.

We have just received some work for the branding and stationery of a new web hosting company called Firebolt Hosting. The company provides solutions for all types of hosting for e-mail, websites and other applications. We will attempt to reflect the speed and superiority of the brand compared to other similar businesses. This business will be taking over the services of our partners DreamCreators. All existing customers will be unaffected and from now on all of NE-Design's web hosting will be going through Firebolt. More information can be found atwww.dreamcreators.co.uk
